Through ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi proves tourism is close to his heart

PM Narendra Modi’s recent ‘Mann Ki Baat’ inspired Udaipur’s local administration and students to start cleaning of Sultan Ki Bawari in the city.

In a boost to tourism and India’s cultural heritage, the PM mentioned the Char Dham Yatra, Amarnath Yatra, Rath Yatra and the Sabarimala Yatra during his talk. He gave the example of ‘Chite Lui’ river in Aizawal,

Mizoram, and how a cleaning drive focused on the river is being jointly carried out by agencies, social workers and citizens.

He said: “As a nation we have come this far through a journey of development spanning thousands of years. As a society, we have always moved ahead by accepting new ideas and new changes.”

He asked his listeners to follow the Upanishad’s mantra of ‘Charaiveti-Charaiveti-Charaiveti’ - which means – keep going. “Our cultural mobility and travels have contributed a lot to this. That is why our sages and saints entrusted us with spiritual responsibilities like pilgrimage,” he added.
