Chhattisgarh govt releases its first Film Policy 2021 offers, huge incentives to filmmakers.

The state’s first film policy has announced huge subsidy for the development of film and TV industry. It has been decided that the government will give 33 per cent subsidy on Chhattisgarhi films made in the state and a subsidy of 25 per cent to films of other languages made in Chhattisgarh.

Culture minister Amarjeet Bhagat said with this policy, Chhattisgarhi art-culture and tourism will get a new identity in the country and the world. He elaborated that a Chattisgarhi film shot in the state with the expenditure of Rs 5 crores will attract the assistance of Rs 1.65 crore, in case of foreign/other language films shot in the state will also be entitled to 25 per cent subsidy. Subsidy up to Rs 50 lakh will be available on TV serial production. At the same time, if more than 75 per cent of the shooting of a web platform film shot in Chhattisgarh, then the government will help assist Rs 1 crore. To support local artists and technicians assistance of Rs 25 lakh will also be given to the artists and technicians of the state in film production.

Under the new policy, those opening single screen cinema halls in the state will get assistance of up to Rs 15 lakh. The assistance amount for multiplexes will be up to Rs 50 lakh. The government will also give up to Rs 10 lakh for repair and renovation of any closed cinema hall.

The film policy also lays emphasis on the technical side of cinema production. To help the local film industry, the government has also extended a helping hand in procuring film production equipment. It has been stated in the policy that the government will give 15 per cent subsidy on the purchase of film production equipment.
There is also a proposal to develop a state of the art film city on 150 to 200 acres of land in Nava Raipur. The location will be decided soon by the government. Facilities for shooting from studio to mixing-dubbing and editing will also be provided here.

Culture minister Amarjeet Bhagat clamimed that the film policy of Chhattisgarh provides better opportunity for film makers in campare to Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Jharkhand.
